Scope of Renewable Energy in Nepal
Clean and sustainable energy sources, particularly the biogas, improved cooking stoves and solar home systems are widely accepted technologies in Nepal. However, these still emerge as short to medium-term solutions due to low purchasing power and weak institutional support mechanisms. Economic hardship and low level of technical understanding among those living in rural areas are often those with poor access to renewable energy technologies (RET), and this remains a key challenge the country faces in wider use of RET.
Our Experience in Renewable Energy
SWN has been working in rural and renewable energy sector since 2009. Our services includes policy analysis and reviews, third party monitoring and evaluation, studies on applicable and impact of specific renewable energy technologies including biogas, ICS, solar energy, micro hydro and other.
