Exposure visits for municipal leaders and DRR officials
With the support of the European Union, Scott Wilson Nepal (SWN) under the Pratibaddha-II project organized two days exposure visit on March 1 and 2, for Local Government (LG) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) officials of Barhabise Municipality, Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchowk and Naukunda and Uttargaya Rural Municipality of Rasuwa.
The exposure visits to Tikapur Municipality and Janaki Rural Municipality of Kailali district provided an opportunity for LG representatives and DRR officials to learn about the good practices in flood early action and Disaster Risk Reduction governance. They also met and interacted with communities to better understand the strategies, policies, and programs implemented in those areas. This visit could potentially support the LG representatives and officials to adopt the approaches in their own areas and improve their disaster preparedness and response for the landslide context.
The project Pratibaddha-II (Together for Disaster Preparedness and Early Action in Landslide Affected Hill Areas of Nepal) is led by People in Need, with its consortium partners CSRC, Save the Children Nepal, and SWN.
