Assessment of climate-vulnerable areas and Bioengineering solutions for Gandaki Basin Climate Resilient Project
We are delighted to share that SW Nepal Pvt Ltd (Scott Wilson Nepal/SWN) has been awarded by IUCN the assignment to identify climate-vulnerable sites to select or design bioengineering techniques to strengthen the climate resilience of communities and ecosystems for the ‘’Gandaki Basin Climate Resilient Project (GBCRP)’, a seven-year project initiative funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
The project seeks to improve the resilience of communities through ecosystem and livelihood adaptation to climate change in the Gandaki River Basin, which occupies about 21 percent of Nepal’s land area and is one of the largest river basins in Nepal.
IUCN, as the accredited entity, is the implementing entity of the project. The Department of Forests and Soil Conservation (DoFSC) under the Ministry of Forests and Environment works together on this project with the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) in executing the project.
