४ डिसेम्बर २०२४, Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre को आयोजनामा Scott Wilson Nepal द्वारा प्रस्तुत कार्यक्रममा नेपालका सडक पूर्वाधारमा बायो इन्जिनियरिङ प्रविधि ( Bioengineering techniques ) कसरी योजनाबद्ध तरिकाले सशक्त बनाउँदै यसलाई Nature-based Solutions (NbS) को छातामुनि जलवायु परिवर्तनकाे सन्दर्भमा जीवट (resilient) सडक पूर्वाधारका लागि उपयोग गर्न सकिन्छ भन्ने सम्बन्धमा कार्यशाला आयोजना भयो।
डा. मेघराज धिताल कड्किनुभयो: हाम्रा Bio-engineering तथा Mountain Risk Engineering जस्ता प्राविधिक विरासत विश्वले अनुसरण गरेको छ, तर हामीले बिर्सँदै गएका छौं!
Scott Wilson Nepal को टोलीले प्रस्ताव गर्यो: Nature – based Solutions याे हो र Bioengineering संगै यसरी पूर्वाधार निर्माण प्रकृतिसम्मत (nature-aligned) वनाउन सकिन्छ !
कार्यशालामा नेपालका सडक निर्माणमा अग्रणी संस्थाहरू सडक विभाग एवं स्थानीय पूर्वाधार विकास विभाग, वन तथा वातावरण मन्त्रालय, विश्व बैंक, IUCN, एवं यस विषयसँग सम्बन्धित विद्वानहरू उपस्थित हुनुहुन्थ्यो। यस कार्यक्रममा मूर्धन्य विद्वानद्वय भूगर्भ शास्त्री डा. मेघराज धिताल एवं जलाधार तथा बायो इन्जिनियरिङ विज्ञ मधुकर उपाध्यायले बायो इन्जिनियरिङ एवं नेपालमा पूर्वाधार निर्माणका ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि बताउँदै अहिले भएका कमीकमजोरी निवारण गर्दै कसरी प्रकृतिसम्मत गर्न सकिन्छ भन्ने बाटो प्रष्ट गर्नुभयो । यस गोष्ठीले नेपालमा Bioengineering तथा NbS लाई विशेष प्राथमिकतासाहित योजनाबद्ध किसिमले लानुपर्ने कुरामा सुझाव दियो।
On 4th December 2024, Scott Wilson Nepal team presented in an Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) organised workshop a scale-up plan on how Bioengineering and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) applications can be strengthened in road transport infrastructure in Nepal.
Senior representatives from DoR, DoLID, the Ministry of Forest and Environment, the World Bank, IUCN, and other agencies provided their suggestions. Senior Geologist Dr. Meghraj Dhital and Watershed/Bioengineering Expert Madhukar Upadhyaya passionately shared historical perspectives and ways forward.
Scott Wilson Nepal is a leading private sector organisation in Nepal in promoting knowledge, awareness, and techniques of Bioengineering and Nature-based Solutions for climate and disaster-resilient and nature-aligned roads and bridges in Nepal.
