जीवट शहरी खानेपानी तथा सरसफाइ प्रणाली सम्बन्धी कार्यशाला
A two-day workshop (8–9 October 2025) on “Climate-Resilient Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Systems”, organized by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), focused on strengthening the technical capacity of Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management (DWSSM), Provincial, and Municipal Technical Teams to integrate climate resilience into urban water supply and sanitation projects under Integrated Water Supply and Sanitation Management Project (IWSSMP), Nepal.
PEGASYS Limited and Scott Wilson Nepal’s internationally recognized climate experts delivered the technical sessions and equipped participants with practical insights and hands-on skills to conduct Rapid Climate Risk Assessments (RCRA) and use the results to identify, prioritize, and justify climate adaptation measures within IWSSMP, Dharan.
Through interactive sessions, participants learned to analyze climate hazards, assess infrastructure vulnerabilities, and prioritize adaptation options using tools such as Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) and Cost-Effectiveness Assessment (CEA). The workshop also emphasized nature-based solutions and gender inclusiveness to ensure sustainable, equitable, and climate-resilient urban water and sanitation systems in Nepal.
Using the IWSSMP, Dharan as a case study, participants from the DWSSM and partner municipalities learned to translate climate risk assessment findings into actionable investment plans.
