GBV in Nepal remains a significant concern, with one in three women aged 15–49 experiencing some form of violence, including physical, psychological, socio-economic, or sexual abuse. In the fiscal year 2021–2022 alone, over 21,500 cases were reported, though the actual numbers are likely higher due to underreporting. Contributing factors include entrenched social and cultural norms, economic inequality, and weak local governance to address such issues effectively. Recognizing the significance and the urgency of this campaign, Scott Wilson Nepal (SWN) is committed to joining the global movement by leveraging its expertise and ethos to advocate for change.
At Scott Wilson Nepal, our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) unit has been instrumental in driving impactful GBV-related initiatives. From the Endline Evaluation of the PROTECT Program to Third Party Monitoring for the Integrated Platform for GBV Prevention and Response (IPGBVPR), evaluations for the Combatting Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) Project, and study on Improved Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response, we continue to advance research, advocacy, and implementation efforts in addressing GBV.
These initiatives reflect our unwavering effort to create safer, more equitable communities by tackling the root causes of GBV and promoting sustainable solutions.
