Bio-engineering is at the core of all green infrastructure development works that SWN undertakes. The firm has supported the governments of Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh in providing policy guidance and technical documentation in bioengineering and, more recently, in Nature-based Solutions (NbS). In doing so, SWN has been engaged in a series of training and capacity-building events since 2000. These events for the clients in Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh have been in the context of roads, irrigation, shelter, and other community infrastructures.
SWN works have also been to promote roadside bioengineering works in a manner that allows pro-poor social and economic development with inclusive income generation by the roadside communities.
