Nepal continues to face chronic syndrome of poverty with complex set of group inequalities entrenched in gender, cast, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, language and geography. The efforts Nepal has made in peace and reconciliation have not produced desired results for a number of underlying political and economic factors.
Peacebuilding is a complex process with objective to move towards reduced violence and improvement to overcome the root causes of armed conflict. The peacebuilding and reconciliation initiatives spearheaded by the Government of Nepal and development partners to reform the public policies and practices is still in transition.
