Scope of Renewable Energy in Nepal
Clean and sustainable energy sources, particularly the biogas, improved cooking stoves and solar home systems are widely accepted technologies in Nepal. However, these still emerge as short to medium-term solutions due to low purchasing power and weak institutional support mechanisms. Economic hardship and low level of technical understanding among those living in rural areas are often those with poor access to renewable energy technologies (RET), and this remains a key challenge the country faces in wider use of renewable energy technologies (RET).
