S.W. Nepal was currently undertaking the project “Outcome Monitoring of Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program in Nepal” funded by WFP The seven month-long project (June 2019 – Dec 2019) was currently on its final phase. 21 professional and EGRA experienced enumerators were sent to 11 districts (Accham, Bajura, Baitadi, Darchula, Bajhang, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Dadeldhura, Doti, Rukum-East, Rukum-West) of province 5, Karnali and Sudurpaschim for a month for the project to collect data and gather other relevant information.
Our enumerators were involved in monitoring the following four components of the School Meal Program (SMP): Early Grade Reading (EGR), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Digital Learning (DL), and School Meals. To monitor the EGRA component, a survey of 1676 grade 3 students of 323 schools was taken. Similarly, survey questionnaires were collected to monitor the remaining three components of SMP. An overall evaluation of school records was also conducted to collect data on enrolment, attendance and dropout. Other components monitored by our enumerators were School Meals, WASH and Digital Learning (DL). School Records along with the enrollment, attendance and dropout records were also collected during the field visit.
