Since 2007, Karuna foundation has been working in Nepal to prevent disability among children and to improve quality of life of children with disabilities and their families by strengthening existing health care system and empowering communities. In response to the Nepal earthquake 2015, Karuna foundation has been launching disability inclusive emergency aid programs, to support and provide relief to the victims from underserved communities of Nepal.

Objective

In this context, Post Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction Project has been brought into implementation with the objective of reconstruction and rehabilitation of schools and hospitals in 2 districts of Nepal, Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

Services provided by SW Nepal

SW Nepal prepared site layout of 14 health posts, structural analysis and proposed repair measures of 2 health posts, revised cost estimate of 5 school buildings, verified cost claimed by the contractor of 9 health posts. Likewise, SW Nepal also prepared the design, structural analysis and site layout of 1 rehabilitation center. All the prepared work was successfully approved by the Ministry of Health(MOH).
