Local Infrastructure for Livelihood Improvement (LILI) is a SDC/Helvetas initiative. The Phase I of the programme started in August 2006 for a period of 3 years in 6 Swiss and Helvetas cluster districts namely Doti, Achham, Jajarkot and Dailekh in the west, and Dolakha and Ramechhap in the east.
Objective
The program was implemented with the objective of increasing the level of income and food security of the remote and food deficit hill areas through supports in small to medium sized farmer managed irrigation systems.
Key activities
Following successful outcome from the Phase I activities, a decision was taken to design and implement LILI Phase-II from the second half of 2009.
Accordingly, the services of SW Nepal were sought to support the LILI team in the preparation of the programme document which broadly reflects the successful design of the Phase I but also incorporates the lessons learnt as documented through various internal and external studies of the Phase I activities.
Services provided by SW Nepal
SW Nepal’s services in this assignment particularly included the following:
- Facilitation and moderation of planning workshops at the central level and document the workshop outcomes.
- Effective support to the LILI team in writing up of project document including a logical framework in line with the project outline prepared by the project team.
- Participate and support in the review/update and finalisation of the logical framework and project outline document.
