SDC funded District Roads Support Programme supports capacity building of local government and community institutions in planning and implementing transport infrastructure development and maintenance activities at district level. DRSP has a strong social component to impact the lives of the very poor and marginalized communities through capacity development and income generation opportunities provided in conjunction with motor-able access improvement.

Key activities
The review assessed the impact of the activities in meeting overall social objectives set by DRSP programme at the design stage and that of the SDC which provides financial support to the programme.
Services provided by SW Nepal
SW Nepal conducted the social and equity impact study of the programme operational in six backward districts of Nepal. The key activities included visit to the project districts, meetings with community leaders and members, and social surveys to identify impacts in improving the living condition of the road affected communities and the households participating in the road building groups.
