SW Nepal was selected to carry out the “Review of Current Procurement Laws and Prevailing Practices related to Public Procurement in Nepal to Frame a Plan to Implement Integrity Pact (IP) in Public Enterprises” for Transparency International Nepal (TIN). The study supported in the development of Nepal-specific Integrity Pact, which is a tool for thwarting collusion, bribery, waste and other corrupt practices in the GoN procurement procedure.

Key activities

The study supported to the development of Nepal-specific Integrity Pact, which is a tool for thwarting collusion, bribery, waste and other corrupt practices in the GoN procurement procedure. This study also assisted in a greater understanding of feasibility, usability, relevance, etc. of this anti-corruption tool in the context of Nepal.

Services provided by SW Nepal

Under this assignment, SW Nepal carried out qualitative data collection through desk review which formed a key part of this study, KII with various GoN and private stakeholders along with the procurement experts were also carried out.

Outcome

A set of recommendations, both at policy and implementation level with possible implementation measures were also provided. This study contributed to a better understanding of current practices, laws, regulations related to public procurement in Nepal.
