The 2015 earthquake destroyed 24000 classrooms and total of 5,003 schools in 14 most affected districts were dilapidated (Ministry of Education).Many national and international agencies are involved in reconstruction and rehabilitation of damaged schools. According to NRA, 2891 educational institute has been rehabilitated while 1458 are under construction.
‘Children of the Mountain’ envisions a world where children regardless of caste and creed or any economic circumstances have an access to safe and nurturing school environment. This is achieved through investing on the school facilities and teacher’s skills, promoting the values that supports and nurtures every child to reach their utmost potential.

Objective

Children of the Mountain (CoTM) had contracted S.W. Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (Scott Wilson Nepal, SW Nepal) for engineering services on structural analysis on design of schools. The objective of the assignment was to perform structural analysis of existing school design and submit a structurally analyzed and safe design with appropriate changes as necessary and agreed with CoTM.

Services Provided by SW Nepal

In undertaking this assignment, SW Nepal provided structurally analyzed safe design of schools with appropriate design elements and space consideration.
SW Nepal supported CoTM in necessary document for approval of the design by Government authorities.
