Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) has classified Periodic District Development Plan (PDDP) a high priority and has required all DDCs to prepare and update PDDP with long term vision and development targets. In this context, with the support from SDC under State Building at Local Level (SBLL), Khotang and Okhaldhunga district has formulated PDDP (2011/12 – 2015/16, 2012/13 – 2016/17).

Key Activities

DDC has tried to formulate the annual plan, however systemic relationship between annual plan and periodic plan has not been established yet. In the meantime, National Planning Commission (NPC), has decided not to public the district level programme from the centre level. In the same line, District Development Committee (DDC) has also requested SDC for the support to facilitate the process of annual planning process for the fiscal year. Similarly, both districts have also tried to formulate 2015/16 annual plan in line with the guideline of MoFALD and national planning commission and also intend to link with district plan, which was also formulated with the support of SDC.

Services provided by SW Nepal

In undertaking the assignment, SW Nepal Expert team participated in the review meeting organized by DDC. Before the Commencement of the review meeting, expert team forwarded specific formats to the DDC to structure their review report based on the PDDP targets. Expert team to orient the stakeholders on reporting based on the PDDP indicators. Team also highlighted the importance of the PDDP based reporting for measuring the progress and achievements. Similarly, the team constitute a Review Report Preparation Committee (RRPC) and sub-committees.
