Gorkha is a food deficit district, particularly the remote northern areas. WFP supports the communities to improve their access to food and other goods by engaging people in Food for Work Programme (FfW). WFP allocated 300 MT of rice to support the communities for their labor contribution along Arughat-Sotibazaar section.
Objective
The objectives of the project are :
• Construct 7.5km long motorable road from Azuwakhola to Liding section of the extended Arughat – Sotibazaar Section enlarging the width to 4.5m from the original trail
• Provide food for food insecure villages of Aru Arbang, Thumi, and Lapu
• Provide access to more food insecure villages in the northen part of Gorkha district (Gumda, Laprak, Sirdibas, Manbu, Kashigaun, Uhiya, Keraunja, Chhekampar, Chumchet, Bihi, Prok, Lho, and Samagaun)
Key Services provided by Firm
