In order to support peace objectives in Nepal, NPTF funds and coordinates the implementation of a number of projects through line agencies and partner organizations under the following four thematic areas:

  • Cantonment Management and Rehabilitation of Combatants
  • Conflict Affected People and Communities
  • Security and Transitional Justice
  • Constituent Assembly and Peace Building Initiatives on National and Local Levels through implementing agencies.

This assignment is the continuation of External Monitoring we took in Phase I, II & III.

Services Provided by SW Nepal

SW Nepal has been assigned to undertake third party external monitoring to contribute to enhancing the performance of NPTF.
The monitoring team has been carrying out field visits in 19 districts to collect primary information through various tools such as social audit, focus group discussions, questionnaires survey and key informant interviews. Social audit is the main tool for assessing the relevance, appropriateness, value for money and sustainability of the trust fund activities among others. Around 24 social audits were conducted throughout the monitoring period.

Outcome

The assignment provided specific recommendations to NPTF, MoPR and implementing agencies on strengthening the implementation of third phase of NPTF.
