Scott Wilson Nepal collaborates and works with federal, provincial, and local governments, and development partners to strengthen systems and capacities for effective disaster risk management (DRM). SWN core competencies includes:
- Supporting development or revision of local and provincial DRM policies, plans, and frameworks (e.g., LDCRP, DPRP).
- Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment, development of early action plans for vulnerable communities.
- Conducting capacity and needs assessments of local/provincial institutions.
- Providing technical inputs to national-level guidelines and standards (e.g., resilient infrastructure, climate adaptation, NbS).
- Assisting in policy dialogue and advocacy to integrate DRR and climate resilience into sectoral policies (e.g., transport, urban planning).
- Developing and disseminating knowledge products, tools, and manuals for evidence-based DRM policymaking.
