Dr. Alyson Brody is an established Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) consultant and founder of Gender Equality Innovations. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Social Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, with research focused on women’s economic empowerment and migration in Thailand.
With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Brody has provided technical guidance and policy support to a wide range of organizations, including AFD, FCDO, ILO, FAO, UNDP, WFP, ADB, and the EU. Her work promotes transformative, people-centred approaches to gender equality, climate resilience, and inclusive development.
A former Director of BRIDGE at the Institute of Development Studies, Dr. Brody has authored and edited influential publications, training materials, and GESI strategies. She has extensive experience across Asia, leading gender assessments and mainstreaming initiatives in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Mongolia, and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
